FAQ
🚨 Versions, Editions, and Bonus Content – Explained!
Please read this entire FAQ carefully as it addresses many of your questions about new versions, bonus material, availability, and how to get the latest editions!
Why are there new versions for the US eBook and print books with added bonus material?
I’ve been independently publishing for ten years, but I recently signed my first US book deal with Kensington Publishing! 🎉 This partnership allows for nationwide distribution of my books in US bookstores for the first time ever.
Previously, my books were only available on Amazon and my website. Now, thanks to Kensington, you can find them in stores like Barnes & Noble, Target, and Books-a-Million. To celebrate, I’ve added bonus material to these new editions.
Why are the books being republished?
Kensington has taken the original versions of the books and given them new life with revamped covers and bonus content for the US print books. The eBook versions will also feature the bonus material, available to US readers on the same day as the print release.
Important: The older versions, originally published by KLS Press, will not automatically update since Kensington is a new publisher. So, these are treated as new downloads or borrows. You do NOT need to delete your KLS Press versions to access the new ones.
Which books include bonus material?
Here’s a breakdown of the re-released books and their status:
- Flock – Bonus material out now in Kensington’s print and eBook versions.
- Exodus – Bonus material out now in Kensington’s print and eBook versions.
- The Finish Line – Releasing October 22, 2024, with bonus material in both print and eBook.
- One Last Rainy Day – Pre-order available now! Releasing December 24, 2024, with bonus material added on or near the US print release day.
For the Legacy Series, the following books will roll out without bonus content (for now):
- Severed Heart – Available for pre-order.
- Birds of a Feather – Available for pre-order.
- Untitled (#4) – To be announced.
What about international readers?
International readers, rejoice! Kensington and my international publisher, Macmillan, have teamed up to include bonus content in Macmillan eBooks (eBooks only for now). While this process is still ongoing, rest assured that the bonus material is on its way. Macmillan’s print books will not have the bonus material at this time, but we’ll update you if that changes.
Additionally, Macmillan has made The Ravenhood available in Kindle Unlimited in select countries, including the UK. So when the bonus material is added, you can return and re-borrow or treat the eBook as a new download to read the bonus content FREE with KU.
How do I know if I’m getting the right edition?
If you’re in the US and want the bonus content with the updated covers, make sure you purchase the Kensington edition from reputable retailers like Barnes & Noble, Target, or Books-a-Million. Beware of scammers selling false editions! Always check that Kensington is listed as the publisher.
Will the Ravenhood audiobooks be updated with bonus content?
No, unfortunately. The bonus content consists of additional chapters, and I would need to write novella-sized additions to justify new audiobook production. So, for now, the bonus material will be available in print and eBook only.
Why are there so many different covers?
Since the books are being distributed both in the US and internationally, and they’re being translated into over 20 languages, there are several versions of the covers. You’ll see:
- Kensington’s updated US versions (with bonus material).
- Macmillan’s international editions (red, white, and black covers).
- Translated versions for various languages.
The stories are the same across all editions, though, so no worries!
A Note of Appreciation:
I am deeply moved by your support during this exciting new chapter of my publishing journey. Seeing my readers celebrate with me by purchasing the books at retail stores has been completely unexpected and more appreciated than I can express. 🙌🏼🤯
